I remember them all. Never liked Mr Keeble.

Your grandad put my Sooty in the boiler, my fault entirely as I left him there on the last day of term when we were allowed to take in our favourite toy. I had only had him for a few weeks.

My father told me I had learnt a valuable lesson that day to look after my property. No sympathy in those days.

2nd from left Mrs Vi (Violet) Betts.
6th from left Miss Ruth Betts (her daughter).
Ruth was a pupil at Woodmansterne School when I left in 1945, think she must have been about 10 then.
Ruth's father Len and younger brother Philip both became Woodmansterne Scoutmasters, I believe.

Could be my granny’s prefab in the background, I used to climb up and look over the fence, when not at school.

Miss Farrington came from the old school in Rectory Lane. My grandad said she used to teach him there.

Sorry, Janice Chapple, but I giggle at poor Sooty.
