Unless I'm mistaken (which happens occasionally, in my 80th year!)this is on the corner outside of the Galleon swimming pool and country club- just out of sight on the left- behind a petrol filling-station. A little further along the road to the left was The Surrey Yeoman pub. To the right, on the other side of the road, would be the Sugar Bowl swimming pool. Straight-on, between the trees, the A217 leads Northwards via Banstead Crossroads and Sutton Bypass, to its end- at Tooting Graveney. The black and white painted kerb-stones suggest the photo was taken during, or shortly after the war; that is, late 1940's. Following the A217 to the right would take you via Kingswood and Reigate Hill, to Hookwood, just before joining the A23 and Gatwick Airport. Before they built the main runway there, I could cycle across and towards Crawley and Rusper, passing through (I think) a place marked "Gotwick".

You're right the black and white kerbstones are on the A240 Reigate Road leading to the A24 on the Ewell bypass.
