Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Passingham of Salisbury Road Banstead, was a switchboard operator for the Banstead Fire Service during the war.

"Cookie" was the cook at the Fire Station (Sutton or Banstead?) and known to all by that name. Her surname was Savin. She and my mother "Betty" remained friends.
