Banstead History Research Group
The Banstead History Research Group is a local history society covering Banstead, Burgh Heath, Nork, Tadworth,Tattenham Corner and Woodmansterne in the county of Surrey. We research and publish histories of local individuals, houses, schools etc etc. We like to ensure that all our work is available to the general public and we have set up this Photo Archive to display not only our own collections but to also allow contributions from anyone else. Our own website which was set up a few years ago has enabled us to collect memories and photographs from people all over the world. Many left Banstead years ago but, they have never forgotten Banstead. If you fall into this category or especially if you are a long time resident, do sort out your old photos and make them part of Banstead's history by adding them to this important archive. For more detailed histories, publications and much more, please visit our main website.

Jackie Pearce at the Saatchi Gallery
Jackie is a true artist who only works when inspired. She experiments with oils and various drawing medium and pursues a diversity of work embracing challenging and demanding ideas. She takes great pleasure in creating work that has been stimulated by her experiences of atmospheric landscapes, nature and human emotions. Jackie says “Art and Nature are so intimately related to one another that it is impossible to think of one without the other.” Usually making photographic studies and sketches before completing oil paintings or drawings, Jackie strives to create a true sense of inner depth and simple beauty in her work. She endorses Brancussi’s belief that simplicity is complexity itself and one has to be nourished by its essence in order to understand its value. July 2009
